Description and Organization:
Firefighting capability has been available in Seabrook since its beginning. The Seabrook Fire Department was officially organized in 1931. The fire department is responsible for emergency response to fires, accidents, rescues, and other emergencies. We are also responsible for fire inspections, prevention, and education. Another primary function of your fire department is activities related to homeland security.
The Seabrook Fire Department is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. There are 23 full time personnel and 30 call / volunteer.
The fire department and Emergency management administrative functions are directed by Kelly McDonald. Her duties include fire reporting, EMS reporting, and liaison with our ambulance billing company.
Residents and non residents alike are billed for ambulance service. Residents are only billed through their insurance carrier and are not directly responsible for an ambulance charge. Ambulance billing is done through “Comstar”. Charges for the ambulance are in accordance with the allowable fee through insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Commercial / Industrial:
Builders of commercial and industrial occupancies are reminded that they shall coordinate their projects through the Fire Prevention office. Requirements for sprinklers and fire alarm systems among others should be reviewed before any work is done.
