Public Notice Regarding Jamestown Canyon Virus (JCV)

PUBLIC NOTICE

The New Hampshire Department of Health has detected Jamestown Canyon Virus (JCV) in one mosquito batch collected on 10/1 in Seabrook NH.

Seabrook is currently at high risk for arboviral disease as a result of the EEEV detections that took place in adjacent jurisdictions earlier in the year. As a result of this novel detection, NHDES will not be raising its arboviral risk level.

Due to this new detection and the proximity to Seabrook School, the Town of Seabrook has implemented a response plan out of precaution.

Crews from Northeast Vegetation and Mosquito Control will spray Seabrook School Fields on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Please refrain from using this location while spraying occurs and over an hour afterward.

You may contact the Town of Seabrook’s Health Department with any questions at 603.474.3871 or Northeast Vegetation and Mosquito Control at [email protected]
