Congratulation Detective Donny Chase

The Seabrook Board of Selectmen, joined by Police Chief Michael Gallagher, honored Police Detective Donny Chase on his recently announced retirement, presenting him with a citation that expressed the appreciation of the Board for his 30 plus years of service to the Town of Seabrook. Detective Chase once served as the training officer to Chief Gallagher.

Rebecca Rule Coming to Seabrook Library

The Seabrook Library will present a program by Rebecca Rule entitled That Reminds Me of a Story on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 6:30 pm at the Seabrook Library, 25 Liberty Lane in Seabrook. This program is generously underwritten by the New Hampshire Humanities Council.

Rebecca Rule tells and gathers stories in New England, especially New Hampshire. Her books include The Best Revenge: Short Stories; Could Have Been Worse: True Stories, Embellishments, and Outright Lies; and a new book Live Free and Eat Pie: A Storyteller’s Guide to New Hampshire. She hosts the New Hampshire Authors Series on NH Public Television.

This program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

2015 Low and Moderate Homeowners Property Tax Relief Form

You may qualify for a tax relief if your income is less than
$20,000.01 if single, or $40,000.01 if married.

A form may be obtained on the Assessor’s page on the Town website at seabrooknh.info or by contacting the
Assessor’s office at 603-474-2966.

The Assessor’s Office will assist you with filling out the form if you wish. You will need to bring in your 2015 Federal Income Tax form, or proof of any
income other than Social Security if you do not do an income tax.

The filing deadline is June 30, 2016.

Coffee With a Cop in Seabrook

On Friday April 22, 2016 the Seabrook Recreation Department hosted a “Coffee with a Cop,” which featured Police Chief Michael Gallagher. It was a great chance for the Chief to interact with our residents, answer questions, and take note of issues needing attention. Thanks to the Board of Selectmen, recreation Director Katie Duffey, and Police Chief Michael Gallagher for participating in a great program.

Assessors Data Now Online

Is now available on the web

The Town of Seabrook, along with implementing a departmentally shared GIS System with People GIS, has contracted with Vision Government Solutions to put the Assessor’s Data on the web. The web address is http://gis.vgsi.com/seabrooknh/
This website can be searched by owner name, map and lot, or address and publishes owners, mailing address and property data.
A shortcut is also on the Assessor’s page of the Town website at seabrooknh.info
For the most up-to-date information you will still need to contact the Assessor’s office at 603-474-2966.
Vision Government Solutions is also completing our 2016 required update of values. These figures will be available in July or August and letters will be sent to property owners with an opportunity for a meeting if desired.


Stephen Kurkjian Coming to Seabrook Library

The Seabrook Library will present an author presentation and signing of the book, Master Thieves: The Boston Gangsters Who Pulled Off the World’s Greatest Art Heist on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 6:30 pm at the Seabrook Library, 25 Liberty Lane in Seabrook.

The author, Stephen Kurkjian, is one of the most acclaimed investigative reporters in the country. A forty-year veteran of the Boston Globe, he is the paper’s former Washington bureau chief and a founding member of its investigative Spotlight Team. Kurkjian has won more than twenty-five national and regional awards, including the Pulitzer Prize on three occasions. He is a graduate of Suffolk Law School and lives in Boston.

This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.


Seabrook Recreation Activates Online Registration

The Seabrook Recreation Department has activated online registration, which will allow for program registration, membership sign up, and direct program sign ups, with the ability to make payments, right from the comfort of your home. Check out the web site at www.SeabrookRec.com I had the pleasure of going down to the Recreation Department and using the system as it opened for business on April 6. Let us know what you think. Thank you to Recreation Director Katie Duffey, IT Director Brian Murphy, and Treasurer Oliver Carter for all of their hard work to bring this system to Seabrook.

Thank You to Crimeline for the Hamptons and Kiki Evans

On behalf of the Board of Selectmen a very big thank you to Kiki Evans of Crimeline For the Hamptons, who brought a very generous donation of $1400 that will be used to procure a breaching kit for the Seabrook Police Department. Crimeline for the Hamptons is an active partner with local law enforcement agencies, and we deeply appreciate this donation, and their continuing efforts to be a positive and pro-active force for good with our public safety agencies. Thanks to Chief Michael Gallagher for all of his efforts as well. The Board of Selectmen accepted this donation at the April 4, 2016 meeting.

Congratulations to Deputy Walker and Sergeant Gelineau

Congratulations to newly sworn in Deputy Police Chief Bret Walker and Sergeant Kevin Gelineau. The Town of Seabrook swore them in to their new positions with the Seabrook Board of Selectmen on hand to offer their support. Thank you to Chief Gallagher and the Board of Selectmen for making this a special event for the individuals, and for our Police Department.
